I am Britta Bruns from BB HORSE CARE and I am passionate about what I do.
BB HORSE CARE is my personal holistic concept for the horse AND the rider for 15 years now. I have started it in Germany before I came to NZ in 2014 to live here.
I have been around horses all my life. I have worked on a western horse farm ( training, breeding, showing) in Germany for 15 years when I was 18. My tasks included feeding the horses, assisting with training, management of the horses, assisting vet and farrier and helping with the foaling season. I joined several courses about equine first aid, horsemanship, groundwork, foal handling etc. that were organised by the farm.
In Germany I had my own horse "Sunny" since she was a foal, she is an American Paint Horse mare and is still living a great life on the farm of my friend since I moved to NZ 2014.
You can see her in several pictures here on my website. I am still connected to her by heart (and yes I do miss her, but I could not take her with me for several reasons).
Sunny is the horse love of my life, she taught me so much about myself...
SHE is the reason why I started this journey 15 years ago. Read here about my " magic moment" with her that started everything:
Sunny SHOWED ME THE PATH to bodywork. I "accidently" healed her lameness 16 years ago (probably caused by overexcitement in the paddock with her mates : )) with putting my hands on her sacrum area. I don't know why I did it, it just happened. It was kind of an " instinct" or " inner feeling" that guided me to do that.
She really relaxed into it and I felt "something" in my hands. At that time I did not understand what's going on, but I was fascinated.
After a few minutes or so, she started yawning and was stretching herself, then she walked off- not limping anymore.
I was speechless!
That was the start of my journey! I started my research and practical learning about different equine bodywork approaches through different courses in Germany.
And the more I dived into this, the more I felt : THIS IS MY PATH! I liked the non - invasive modalities the most, so I continued do do more of those courses.
Since then I got lot of certifications for bodywork approaches as well as for subjects related to horses health and wellbeing. I love to continuously learn and share my knowledge with horse people through my Blog or Facebook page or in person at bodywork sessions or Yoga practise.
The more knowledge we all gain, the more we can improve the lives of the horses. " If you know better, you can do better"
That's my personal mission: Increase the understanding for horses needs to provide the best possible environment for them and keep them healthy and happy.
